Ep. 3: Financial Limitations with Leticia Elisa Hernandez, Ph.D.

My guest today is Leticia Ortega Ochoa. Leticia grew up in the Los Angeles area to working class, immigrant parents with less than a high school education. Leticia is a first-generation college student who graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is currently an Associate Principal at a top national design firm. Throughout college, Leticia struggled with the financial limitations of being a first-generation college student and the demanding nature of her major. Here is a little of her First Gen Journey. . .

Show Notes:

Leticia mentioned that she didn't know about the Cal Poly Pomona Counseling Services on campus but looking back, she thinks that would have helped her through her "breakdown" moments. Most university and college campuses have counseling/therapy services available for students. Look for the services available on your campus and don't be afraid to ask for help.
